Introduction
This article covers a set of necessary freeware for a PC. All programs mentioned in this article have a freeware status and can be used absolutely legally and downloaded from shara-soft.ru website.
AudioVideo Players
As an audio-video player we recommend trying JetAudio. It is good both for audio and video playback. It has equalizer and allows applying different effects in real time as well as change the playback speed. While playing a video file you can get rid of black spaces at the top and bottom of the screen or on the sides. OSD, subtitles and display of additional information (song lyrics, album cover, etc.) are fully supported. This player woks fine with hardware multimedia buttons without any additional manipulations. It also has a great media library and can record sound, copy music from CD, convert audio and video files
and stream internet radio. Another plus of JetAudio is that it uses very little computer resources. To play an .mp3 file it only uses 14 megabytes of RAM.
If you prefer separate audio and video players we suggest using AIMP for audio. Just download and try it, we are sure you will like it. As an alternative video player Light Alloy 4.4 can be recommended.
Dictionary
As dictionary software we advise installing Magic Goody. It is a rather good dictionary, but what is more important it is totally free.
Browser
There are several main browsers: Internet Explorer, opera ac unofficial, Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Each one has its plusses and minuses. We recommend you trying each one of them, and then chose the one you like most of all. We made our decision towards Opera. The main idea of Opera is that it includes almost everything you might need. It is quite fast and moderate towards RAM usage.
The main plus of Firefox is its extendibility with plug-ins. Chrome is characterized by high page load speed and minimalistic design. The main benefit of Internet Explorer is compatibility.
